Common Treatments in Family Dental Care
Family dental care can include assessment, prevention and treatment of damaged teeth. The right service follows the diagnosis and the individual patient’s needs, not age alone.

Examination and cleaning

An examination checks teeth, gums, existing work and oral tissues. Cleaning removes deposits and supports home hygiene. Return intervals and imaging depend on risk; a six-month visit is not a universal prescription.

Fluoride and cavity care

Preventive fluoride is selected for age, risk and circumstances. It is not automatically needed at every appointment. Cavities may need monitoring, preventive management or restoration according to stage; scaling is not the standard way to remove tooth decay.

Further assessment or referral

A suspicious tissue change may require follow-up or referral, not an automatic cancer diagnosis. Broken teeth, missing teeth, pulp problems and children’s needs each require a suitable plan. Confirm what the selected office provides and who will perform the treatment.
